Bark at anything that you can’t identify. It must be a dog teaching that this Bernese Mountain Dog learned from his ancestors, so he applied it.
A slice of lemon lay on the floor, and this puppy was curious enough to give it a bite.
The sour taste jolted his senses, giving his tastebuds a kick like no other. For such a small size, this yellow thing sure packed a punch. The puppy wondered what its secret was and immediately set out to find its weakness.
The mountain dog crouched low to observe his enemy.
The little yellow slice remained immobile, not giving anything away. The furball then tried to engage with the opponent by taking a swipe, but the lemon remained stationary.
The fur pet decided to lunge at the lemon with both his front paws to get a reaction.
The yellow slice merely rocked and remained upright. That confused our Bernese pup immensely; there must be a way to defeat the enemy that made his taste buds go crazy.
The furball looked at his mom for support, but she just laughed and kept on filming. There went his support, poor pup!
The furball soon figured it was food, but why did it taste like that? There’s no other treat that tasted quite like this yellow slice, so maybe it’s an exotic one.
Now that he got the opponent classified as food, the pup didn’t feel threatened anymore. He probably stored this knowledge to his memory bank – yellow slice equals yucky taste.
The pup still couldn’t figure out what to do with that taste, so the doggo decided he’d check all his future treats out before tasting anything. The Bernese continued to have fun with the lemon as his mom asked if he was okay.
Of course, he was, now that he knew he wasn’t in danger. Good call, pet!
