Last summer, the Siberian husky Duke went missing from his home in Haysville, Kansas. This broke the heart of his fur dad, Justin Morgan, but his disappearance was probably the hardest on Justin’s son, Jackson. You see, Duke and the kid had been best friends for as long as they could remember, and it was hard for Jackson to think about his lost buddy.
That same day that Duke ended up getting lost, the family drove across town to get any leads of the pup’s whereabouts. They also began sharing his photos on social media and distributing posters around the neighborhood, in case someone spotted him.
However, after months of searching for Duke, Justin and his family ended up with no clue where he could have gone. Understandably, the holidays weren’t the same for the Morgans that year as all they could ever think about was whether the husky was safe and how he was doing.
Little did they know that they would be starting 2021 with a surprise. Come the first week of January, a family friend reached out to Justin to inform him that they saw Duke in a shelter just three blocks from their house. The fur dad was ecstatic and immediately went to the said shelter to confirm the news.
There, he was informed that a husky had just been turned over by a concerned citizen who spotted the pup wandering around a neighborhood. When Justin went to see the canine, he confirmed it was Duke right away. The adorable husky recognized his fur dad, as well, and began howling in joy at the sight of the familiar face.
Justin didn’t inform Jackson of the news just yet and decided to surprise his son with Duke’s arrival instead. The moment he brought home the pup, the kid was nothing but excited to see his furry best friend again. It was a happy reunion indeed. Look at Duke finally at home with his fur dad here.
