Only a few are gifted with the skills to ride the surf on a surfboard. But to some, surfing is such an addictive sport and pastime that people are willing to risk life and limb just to ride that perfect wave. And there is no better surfing spot for both newbies and pros than California.
One California man named Jeff Neiboer is no stranger to surfing. He loves surfing so much that every chance he gets, he’d take his family with him on the beach and go surfing.
When a new family member came, it only made sense that they’d bring him along on their adventures. That new member of the family was a yellow Labrador puppy named Charlie. But while you may think that Charlie is contented with just playing on the beach, then you might want to think again.
Charlie’s fondness for surfing started when Jeff played with him on the surf. He would show the little dog the ropes, to which the pup immediately got the hang of. It was then that Jeff realized Charlie was a natural when it comes to surfing.
Charlie became hooked, and at times, the dog would refuse to get out of the water. It didn’t take long for Jeff to decide to take Charlie surfing with him. It became Charlie’s favorite pastime.
Ever since Charlie started surfing, Jeff had already entered him into many dog surfing competitions in order to raise money for animal charities. In his first two competitions, Charlie got to the finals, and after that, getting first place became a norm for him.
But while Charlie is an active surfer on the beach, he is the total opposite at home. According to Jeff, Charlie is such a lazy dog at home who spends most of his time sleeping on the sofa, eating, or insisting on having his belly rubbed. Such a lucky and talented dog!
