It’s incredible to see animals of different species getting along well. We’ve seen cats and dogs become best friends. Some have shared videos of dogs and foxes forming a beautiful friendship.
But the friendship in this story is quite different. It actually is a precious bond between a dog and marine animals. These ocean animals are two friendly dolphins.
As seen in the footage, a police dog named Mako is bonding with two very curious dolphins. The furry pooch peeks over the side of the water’s edge to get a better look at the two marine mammals. As excited as Mako is by the two new friends, they’re equally as captivated by him.
It’s so heartwarming to watch the two dolphins splashing about in the water as Mako hurries down the side of the riverbank. It is clear that the pooch wants to get a better look at them. Thank goodness his handler was holding his leash, or else the playful pooch would have dropped himself into the water.
The officers at the back knew it too since they could be heard in the video laughing at the dog’s friendly approach. The Western Australia Police Force posted the precious video on their Facebook page where it quickly garnered thousands of views.
Loads of people were amazed by the video, which was posted on the 9th of December. The clip quickly earned tons of comments. Many viewers thought it was just too precious to put into words. One viewer even shared that they had personally seen the dolphins swimming in the Swan River and confirmed that they really enjoy interacting with people.
Another viewer also had a personal story and shared that their own dog was playing near an estuary when it was approached by the same dolphins as well.
Guess it’s safe to say that dogs and dolphins get along pretty well despite the differences. Watch the adorable video below.
