A wonderful woman named Emma owns an animal sanctuary in Oregon. Emma works with volunteers from other shelters. These volunteers would help transport the dogs from shelters to Emma’s sanctuary.
One of the people that helps Emma is Hillary. Hillary reached out to her one day about a dog named Earl. Earl is a senior dog who needs a lot of care and attention because of health issues. Hillary sent a video of him, and Emma saw how thin he was.
She immediately informed Hillary to bring Earl to Oregon. When Earl and Emma first met, Emma, saw how sweet the senior dog was. She also noticed that his condition was far worse than she realized because she had many bald spots.
Even with his condition, Earl still managed to wag his tail. He seemed to be happy around people, and Emma was glad to know that.
There is still a lot of things that Emma had to tackle. One is Earl’s poor eating habits. He has a very poor appetite, and Emma was desperate to put some weight on him. They even reached a point where she had to feed him using a syringe.
After a couple of days, Earl was doing better than when he first arrived. Unfortunately, a day came when Emma noticed that he had labored breaths. He also seemed bloated. Emma rushed him to the vet, and that’s where they learned that he had end-stage heart failure.
The doctor told Emma that Earl only has about three weeks to live. Emma was heartbroken. She didn’t even know if Earl was going to get through the night. Emma broke down when she saw Earl the very next day wagging his tail.
Since that health scare, all seemed to be getting better. Earl now has a good appetite, and his hair started to grow back. The doctor was proven wrong when he said that Earl only has three weeks to live. Seven months later, Earl is stronger than ever!
